DaishoCon 2011
November 25, 2011

Hope everyone had a good ThanxStuffings. Last weekend we attended our local anime convention that got relocated to the Kalahari Resort in Wis Dells. Sephy proved once again you don't mess with the bad guy in Mortal Kombat and added to his expanding 1st place finishes. Epic room, Seority's cake, bacon, buffet, pancakes... it was a great place to celebrate my birthday of course! Thanks for all the memories~

The calendar is getting thin and its not too early to start thinking about the holidays. I learned from last year that DVD creation can take a hearty amount of work to get hours of media paired up and working well together. I will be disappearing for a bit as the ol' editing suites come back alive.

AMV Season
September 20, 2011

DZX had several respectable tournament placements at Geek.Kon 2011, including Sephiroth X's first place in Mortal Kombat, Baconator's (single patty) 2nd place in the impromptu, spur-of-the-moment Rock Band Competition, SqiKy kLeen's 2nd place in DDR, and various semi-finals in Street Fighter 4 / Soul Calibur 4 tournaments. I also had a chance to sit down and play Mario Kart Arcade... and 100% it in one sitting. Alas, it was a long sitting. >_<

Attending the AMV Contest with no entries and an AMV creation panel also helped motivate me to get back into the business (and maybe Seority shaking a gigantic leek). There's awards to be received and information to share! If I can hold onto the thought, you might get a chance to attend our own AMV panel(s) at DaishoCon 2011.

A Little Update
May 24, 2011

I've been watching tons of my anime collection in these past few months - Shana, Rozen Maiden, and Fate Stay Night being the most recent three completed. There were so many similarities between them (including voice actors) that it was really odd to watch them in the order that I did. Also been adding to the ever-growing list of AMV ideas, but release dates are unknown. Consuming vast amounts of media/games is so much easier than making them.

As for member updates, SK went up to Anime Central this year with the KitsuneKon staff for fun convention times, X moved into his new apartment with some help of DZX's moving crew, and AZ's house barely missed the path of a tornado this weekend... with us in it. @_@

Memorial Day weekend is coming up and hope everybody has a great time~

KitsuneKon 2011 and Onwards
March 07, 2011

KitsuneKon's first year convention was a great success and SqiKy kLeen's DJ debut led the way with his rave tunes. Months of hard work and preparation came through in a big way. Congratulations, d00d! We're looking forward to next year's show~

Next on the calendar is No Brand Con and Distant Worlds. Join the discussion in the forum to see who's going and review any activity preparations.

Miku Miku Holidays
December 21, 2010

With this likely being the last update before 2010 ends, I hope everybody has a great holiday and New Year! Be safe and enjoy the season to its fullest... responsibly, of course!

I finished the main video page with its new design and it's close to my full website redesign - whenever that has enough time of course. I need to dive into the PHP first before I can even consider remaking sections. Watching anime is just too much fun instead. :p

DaishoCon 2010
November 25, 2010

The dust has finally settled after the anime, glomping, and light stick extravaganza. I'd say our first experimentation with a room party and Sephiroth X's first panel was a success. On the AMV front, my Random Acts of Azu Violence won the "Why Raptor Jesus Why?!" award... which is pretty accurate of any award it should receive. Special thanks to Wonder Saiyan for making the epic 12 hour drive once again to see us and partake in the crazy.

ZaCloud Goes Solo
September 25, 2010

Shortly after last update, ZaCloud requested to go solo and be removed from membership. For all the great time, effort, and creativeness you've given us throughout the years, we wish the best for you and any of your future creations. Thanks for everything and good luck!

A large Mutli-Editor Project is currently underway here at DZX. Things are still pretty early, but its certainly our most ambitious endeavor yet and will be an ongoing experiment of creativity throughout the upcoming months. There was also a separate project of mine posted in the video forum. Check it out.

Time, Time, Time
June 13, 2010

Whoops, big time lapse there! *cleans off spider webs*

Waffle King and forum member Shadow Phoenix received their diplomas this semester and we all congratulate them in their successful college endeavors. Although it may be hard, be sure to enjoy a little time off before getting those career jobs!

I am also celebrating my one year anniversary at my programming employment. Things haven't been all that easy, but its been very rewarding to see what I've accomplished. A very high priority project is due this week and I'll be continuing to prove my worth once again.

AMV work has been on the tip of my finger lately. Nothing was released for Anime Detour, but I'd like to see if something can be done for next year and this upcoming Daisho Con. Many members and friends have been busy playing things like Supreme Commander 2, Dirt 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Mario Galaxy 2. Lots of sequels in there, eh?

Anime Indulgence
March 09, 2010

A little over a month is left before Anime Detour, but why wait that long to go on an Anime watching/purchasing spree? In these off-months of winter, I've been watching a hefty dose of series that I've been wanting to catch up on - Ef: A Tale of Memories, Kanon 2006, Nogizaka Haruka Purezza, Welcome to the NHK!, and others. I'd like to call it "research" material for new AMV possibilities, but I've got such a huge list anyways! I even purchased the elusive Chobits collection finally.

Two weeks remain for the final AMV deadline submission of Anime Detour. I've been drooling to start making AMVs again, but that timeframe might be a little restrictive...although its technically feasible (I did it last year). Hard to say, but something's going to happen.

Winter, Winter, Winter
January 23, 2010

Hope everyone had a great New Year Bash. Judging on the reactions from AZ, X, Waffles, Whicker, and Red Wolf, I think ours was a success (and a NEW RECORD!). Over 4 hours of hand selected media that was relevant to our interests. Not only that, but X knew my greatest weakness for the most important of days... playing Mario 3 on the first day of the year. It's going to be a great one!

SK informed me of a goldmine of new AMV-goodness footage from IIDX games tonight. With GIGABYTES of video to download, it's a good possibility to see the new footage in action when they get sorted through and applied to the right music. Great find~  :3

New Year Bash
December 20, 2009

   Happy holidays from DZX Productions!

The end of the year is upon us and 'tis a busy time for all of us. Behind the scenes, I've been working on several video projects, but not AMV related. Many have involved live action and one in particular is for our New Year's traditional "What Has Crono Decided To Make Everybody Watch When They Are The Least Prepared" Show. Oh the horror... :p

ZaCloud found an incredible deal of a computer recently. Awesome specs indeed, she now has limitless processor goodness of win that can conquer any request upon thought! Good luck on any new projects and don't forget all the new shiny games that now can be played.

Daisho 2009 Aftermath
November 24, 2009

Welcome any newcomers to DZX Productions!

Like a streak of caffeinated lightning, Daisho 2009 has come and gone. With awards and placements abound, I bet everybody has some memory or event that happened. Starting at the top, SqiKy kLeen's "The Road" achieved the fabled "Best in Show" in the AMV contest, Double Baconator won 2nd place in the Rock Band Competition (but definitely THE most crowd entertaining band), and several gaming tournament placements. Potential pictures and videos will be posted in the upcoming days when everybody gets a chance to look through them.

A big shout out to ZaCloud and Wonder Saiyan for making the loooong car trip to visit us and join the crazy time. Hope you had a great time!

   And since it's so close... Happy Turkey Day?  0_o;;;

Planning, Tweaks, & Updates
October 6, 2009

  *Gasps* An update???

Beyond just the proverbial quarterly (or thirdly?) update that we've been doing in the past couple years, I've started on the framework that will become the NEW DZX Website. It will take loads of time since *every* page will be updated to the new standard, but it will allow us to update practically the instant we have new information.  A new color palette might be a nice change too. Btw... the updated Member's Choice AMVs are posted in the Video page.

Daisho Con is nearly here again... *looks a little lower on the page* Yeah, that one where the Double Baconator™ won the Rock Band Competition. Will they be able to do it again? Will the brilliant AXE come down upon the competition while yelling "Wooooo" and rocking everybody to a pleasure-filled death?

Stay in the ongoing news in the forum. The black wind begins to howl...

Anime Detour '09
April 15, 2009

Anime Detour 2009 has come and gone... and that means LOTS of updates!

The fated editor return of SqiKy kLeen wowed AMV audiences and achieved the fabled "Best In Show" Award for his creativity and dedication to Tenacious D's "Tribute".  In a secondary win, my Azumanga Reloaded won the "Best Trailer" Award for its custom created Matrix Reloaded audio track and parody related visuals.  Check the video page for their detailed descriptions!

ZaCloud's I Aint Marryin' No Friggin' Horse was also recognized in Judge Holden's Indie Panel and met with standing ovation.  Congratulations!

All this AMV activity has spawned interest in Sephiroth X.  What will he return with?  What mind blowing result with come from his deep slumber?  Let's await and see what comes out of the Action-Iron-Fist-OMG-Ninja of DZX Productions!

Advent Revolutions Posted
February 3, 2009

Winter's been pretty brutal thus far. At least we didn't get caught in that ice storm to the south east or the extremely rare London blizzard, eh?

Known to some of DZX as the 'Dark Void of Existence', I pulled an important AMV from the abyss finally. Sephiroth X's award winning Advent Revolutions was added to the video page nearly two years after its original release. It's hard to say why it was gravely missed, but it certainly won't happen again.

In between mental planning for upcoming AMVs and catching up on Xbox 360 releases, I've been researching a few potential changes to an updated DZX webpage. A smaller footprint and new layout would definitely help portable web viewing devices and allow easier updates. No guarantees or timeline when changes will happen, but I encourage any web design input from members and fans.

Lastly, SqiKy kLeen's computer is revived, freshly formatted, and ready for action. As the original architect for this website and several fantastic AMVs, he'll be great to have back on the active team.

No Friggin' Horse Released & New Name
December 16, 2008

The year is nearly over and time to say hello to 2009.  A few changes to the website content prompted this update.

Our member formerly known as _Ice Angel_ is now recognized as ZaCloud at DZX and animemusicvideos.org.  This is due to the fact we called her ZC far more often than IA and to simplify any confusion between the aliases.  ;p

ZaCloud has officially debuted her "I Ain't Marryin' No Friggin' Horse!!!" AMV to the masses.  Crazy amounts of attention and detail wrap up this seemingly simple dance video.  Check the video page for the overview.

My AMV work was halted as of late because of many things, including picking up a certain game called Disgaea DS, but fear not.  Inspiration will come when I go insane from listening to all of my upcoming AMV songs.  BIG projects... oh yes.

Those who wish to attend Anime Detour next year should register before December 31st to save some extra money.  See the forum for ongoing details.

Daisho Con '08
November 25, 2008

What a weekend!  Daisho Con came and gone in a brilliant flash of Rock Band, ZOMG anime, plushies, body-ache-inducing light stick raving, caffeine rushes, and ninjas... thousands of them!  If our reminiscing on the forum is any indication, I bet there's a good chance that Sephiroth X will create "Teh History of DZX: Reloaded."  Super thanks to Ice Angel and Paul for making the ULTRA long drive, smtemp for working during the con and hanging out with us, and our newest forum member Lee for making fun of Astro Boy at 3:00am and great random discussions!

Victorious in their first public tournament outing, the band known as the "Double Baconator" (Redwolf, Sqiky Kleen, Sephiroth X, & Sithius) swept the Rock Band competition.  In addition, X, SK, and Sithius finished in the top 4 for Daisho's Halo 3 tournament.  Finally, SK wowed us with his tournament winning Mega Man 9 speed run.

In all, there's so much more that happened that cannot be summarized here!  We highly await No Brand Con and Detour next year.  Save your money, Sithius!  The dealer's room will have more anime.  ;p

Azu-Violence Released & New DLs
September 30, 2008

Fall is upon us once again and that typically means a few things.  For one, I officially announce my newest AMV release "Random Acts of Azu-Violence"!  Completed in a marathon of ten days, it follows my tradition of creating a short AMV after a huge project.  Check the video page or animemusicvideos.org for the bio.  Second, we wish AZ and Waffles the best during their upcoming semesters.  Stay strong!

Adding to the newest release, I also uploaded these two new downloads for the video page: Gundam Wing - Killing Machine (Sephiroth X) and Mega Man X4 - Instinct (SqiKy kLeen).  With loving care, I sent them through avisynth, cropped, and applied smoothing filters to make them look better than their original encodes!  You guys did awesome jobs with the AMVs and it's about time they are for download again!  If any fans want a particular video uploaded too, let me know in the forum.

As mentioned to other members, I have so many planned AMV projects upcoming in the next couple years.  They may take a long time, but I'm still at it~  ^_^

Graduation, Award, & New Mix
May 27, 2008

Where to begin, valued Internet Surfer?  I'll start with the beginning since it's been a few months.  Avenger - Wish Again received the Best in Show award at Anime Detour 2008.  For my reward, I received a little star trophy and a gift card.  Including this accomplishment, DZX received an award for all three years we entered.

Ice Angel finished her custom mix that combines the talents of Serj Tankian and t.A.T.u.  You can listen to the final mix found in the Creative Works forum.

Despite an insane last week of homework crunching, I graduated from college with High Honors.  Job hunting comes soon... but I am definitely relaxing after three years of education.  It's very nice.

"...but wait..." I hear you say.  Yes, AMVs are in their planning stages.  And X gave me a pretty good idea this afternoon.  Other than the one I'm currently working on, I just might have to work on this next.  You should enjoy it.    ^_^

Wish Again Released
January 17, 2008

With much delay, I officially announce my newest AMV release.  Set to the anime Avenger, Wish Again is yet another step in my editing experience.  From original conception, editing, and final release, I could easy write a short story about making the project.  The video is posted on the video page, and you can view the whole announcement in my profile at animemusicvideos.org.

Since last update, some video planning and progress is taking place behind the DZX scenes as well.  _Ice Angel_ is currently working on the project tentatively entitled "I Ain't Marryin' No Friggin' Horse!!!!!"  She's putting lots of work into it, and I even got to see an early beta render.

Lastly, a certain video project is causing two opposite forces to collaborate into an unforgettable combination.  ...What could it be???
