Advent
Revolutions
by Sephiroth X |
 |
|
Everything that has
a beginning has an end and the fated final continuation of the
Matrix series and FF7:AC came together to birth Advent Revolutions.
Aided by Waffle King and Adobe After Effects to create further
similar ties between the movie realms, X achieved the Promised Land
title "Best in Show" at Anime Detour 2007. The "Sci-Fi Glomp
Provoking Awesomeness" proved that he, without a doubt, used his
previous experience with AMV trailers and delivered on all drooling
expectations.

Complete Authority
by Altruistic Crono
|
 |
|
Altruistic Crono has
a unique talent for creating some of the most revolutionary and
spectacular videos here at DZX, and Complete Authority does not
deviate from this standard. This AMV is a good representation of what
DZX videos are all about, as AC once again utilizes (the somewhat
overused) Linkin Park to give it that classic DZX flavor.
The
editing skill shown in this video, however, is far more than you will
find in your average LP AMV though, as it utilizes almost every trick
from our book in excellent coordination with the song to create an eye
popping, action AMV that you wont soon forget. Excellent work, AC.

Death Is No Option
by Altruistic Crono
|
 |
|
A group of steadfast
warriors, from a great many Chrono- and Final Fantasy-series, have
been informed that, among them, one of them shall die. Right off the
bat, this haunting uncertainty hangs over the scenes of various
battles, each hero not knowing which of them will fall at any moment,
until the inevitable blood is shed...
This grim tale is atmospheric,
yet full of battles and determination. It is well-timed,
well-balanced, and is a video that never seems to lose anything with
age. It has stood the test of time, and will continue to do so for
years to come.

I Ain't Marryin' No
Friggin' Horse!!!
by ZaCloud |
 |
|
ZaCloud has added a
masterpiece (and possibly her best video yet) to our AMV library with
"IAMNFH", while simultaneously branching out into a new genre for DZX.
Her goal for this video was to create a true "dance music video" like
the kind you'd see on MTV, where the backup dancers dance along with
the lead singer. The execution of her idea was clean and flawless, and
her editing skills were at their best, even featuring lip sync to go
along with the dancing. It even takes some unexpected (and humorous)
turns near the end of the video.
Though rarely attempted at all in the
AMV community at large, ZaCloud shows us all what a great Dance video
is made out of, and we are proud to feature it here on our site.
Congratulations on your recognition for this video at Judge Holden's
Indie AMV Panel at Anime Detour 2009!

Never Turn Away
by Altruistic Crono |
 |
|
Well let me put it this
way... Altruistic Crono did what I (Sephiroth X) couldn't do in my 5 Final Fantasy 7 videos, create something totally spectacular and
fully jaw dropping. Originally, this video was offered to AC as a
challenge issued by none other then myself. I guess a little outside
motivation really can do some good.
Altruistic Crono uses the game's
footage brilliantly and even uses clips not normally seen in many other
FF7 videos to date including a very significant video captured
cut-scene. Take all of that and mix in AC's unique gift with AMVs, and
he created a great piece of work from a footage and audio source that in
today's days of AMVs has been beaten to death proving that its never too
late to create something truly unique.

The One
by Sephiroth X |
 |
|
After
discovering the capabilities of Premiere, Sephiroth X set out to
take another shot at one of his favorite movies of all time, The
Matrix. While No More Lies was an admirable video
attempt, he didn't feel it did the movie proper justice, so this
time he set out to do something extraordinary and deserving of its
title, The One.
Using the Dragula remix (appearing in the
movie soundtrack and several of X's video intros) proved to be a
perfect match, and X was able to create a masterpiece, featuring
some of the best special effects, timing, and source footage ever to
be seen in a Matrix video. The only way to describe this video is
"the fanatics ultimate vision of the perfect Matrix video".
We rank
this as one our best vids here at DZX, and we definitely consider it
a "must-download".

The Mugenjou
by ZaCloud |
 |
|
While it wasn't DZX's
first attempt at a trailer, it certainly was the best.
ZaCloud paid
close attention to detail when editing this video, carefully going
through the trailer and footage frame-by-frame, to achieve what was a
fantastic result. The scene match-ups were almost eerie, and the
timing was spot-on. Add to that, some clever and effective plays on the
DZX and studio logos, and you have a video that definitely deserves
more than a second view.

Record 1- The Legend Of
Broli
by SqiKy kLeen |
 |
|
We all knew that SqiKy
kLeen had become an avid Bemani fan, and to a point it
almost hindered his progress as a DZX Productions member until the day
he managed to merge the entities of Bemani music and DZX together to create
Record 1.
Utilizing footage from the DragonBall Z movie Broly: The
Legendary Super Saiyan, possibly the most brutal of the DBZ movies,
and the audio of The Legend of Max, one of the most intense and
difficult DDR songs, SqiKy kLeen created one of the shortest yet
sweetest videos to hit DZX Productions yet. Record 1 does the heralded
Broly DBZ movie justice and paves the way for DZX Productions' future in
regards to the craze that is Konami's Bemani series.

The Road
by SqiKy kLeen |
 |
|
Even from his early
one minute beta, I knew this AMV would become SK's most challenging AMV
produced in his career. Going far beyond anything that I've accomplished
with lip syncing and Photoshop enhanced visuals, he pulled the creative
worlds of Beck: Mongolian Chopsquad, Tenacious D's Tribute, and a little
Death Note into a frame-by-frame spectacle as if he never stopped making
AMVs.
The level of detail and thought for each scene still astonishes me. The
motions, gestures, and lyric matching
Gag-Me's all work together in this award-winning release. His tangible
vision of a guitar-rocking demon clearly makes it stand apart from the
rest.
Perhaps it is the Greatest Tribute to the Greatest Song in the
World. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Wish Again
by Altruistic Crono |
 |
|
One of the most
valuable experiences of my brief AMV career was to see this work of art
flicker across the screen in many of its evolutionary forms, blossoming
before my very eyes.
I'm a fan of traditional story structure, and this was always a mild
sticking point for me on this video. After repeated viewings, I've come
to understand that there is a story here, subconscious and subtle,
speaking to the audience on an almost instinctual or metaphysical level.
This is very much an Altruistic Crono video. Like the man himself, there
is always something deeper, always another layer. It attacks
unsuspecting viewers on a subconscious level, tricking and fooling our
senses and defying expectations.
A torrent of half-remembered images, glimpses of the characters' (and to
some extent, our own) pasts dancing in the corners of our eyes - pure
emotion, pure force and conflict. “Wish Again” is a lucid dream of an
uncertain journey, an undertow of images that begs the viewer to be
pulled in, pulled under and along for the ride.
In many ways, this is AC's finest video. There is an artistry here which
can be neither duplicated nor denied, regardless of your preconceived
notions of AMV construction.
Well done, my friend, from the toughest of critics.
