The King of the Phoeniyans crash landed on Earth in a freak space accident that killed his entire crew and left the young king stranded in a foreign world. Over his short time on Earth, Bax has adapted quickly to the ways of Earthlings and has even become familiarized with such things as The Senate and the Element of Prosperity. Bax's closest allies on Earth are the humans known as Zack Strife, Archangel Zero, and Sephiroth X. Since his arrival on Earth, Bax has longed to reunite himself with his family and his people and that remains his goal. But one discovery Bax finds on Earth may compel him to stay for a longer period of time. Through Archangel Zero, Bax discovers that Earth had become the resting place for an ancient evil Phoeniyan god that is refured to simply as "Fallen". Now the timid king of Auralis and his allies will have to find a way to stop an ancient evil in order to save not only Earth and Auralis, but potentially the universe.
Appearance:
(Bax has a very “DBZish” physique; see avatar) Bax is the king of a very alien
race called the Phoeniyans, and as do all Phoeniyans, he has a bright flame atop
his head where another race’s hair might be. This flame’s composition and
intensity change with his emotions, but that’s about all that it indicates. He
stands about 6’4” and has a very muscular build that is highlighted by a
semi-loose red gi. This gi has two symbols on the back which mean “Shadow
Phoenix” in an ancient Phoeniyan scrip t. Bax’s pupils are a deep red, but have
a very kind and understanding look to them. When in battle however, these “kind
eyes” turn almost cold with concentration. He also carries one of his many
swords on his back at all times.
Personality:
It would be difficult to say whether Bax is more of a “neutral” personality type
or a “good” personality type, as his manner strikes a middle ground between the
two. He stands up for those who are weaker than he is, respects all creatures
but doesn’t desire getting into conflicts that he has no interest in. He is,
however, a very easy-going and laid-back guy who is always up for a good laugh
and a day out to enjoy himself. A bit enigmatic at times, however, he is a deep
person who gets quiet when he has a lot on his mind. During these times, his
mysterious side rears its strange head and he becomes quite unpredictable.
Weapon(s) of Choice:
Bax uses a vast array of swords, particularly the “Star Fighter (Diroxauralis)”
and the “Valermos.” He also favors his skills involving fire.
Fighting Style: Phoeniyan Swordsman – uses a combination of sword and fire
techniques to overwhelm the enemy.
Signature Moves:
These are special moves that Bax doesn’t use very often. There frequency of use
decreases and the expended energy increases as the list goes on, with the 5th
technique being the least used and the most draining to Bax.
1) Red Blaze
– A red flame erupts from the ground beneath the opponent, rising in a large
column.
2) Summon Phoenix
– Whether the Phoenix is considered mythological
or not, it exists, and Bax can summon it. Because of Bax’s close relationship
with the bird, it is extremely powerful, obeying him completely. It is an
extremely powerful bird that Bax can use for transportation or to attack an
enemy with high-powered fire.
3) Omega Blaze
– A large flame consumes the area around the
opponent, first in a high circle and then in a very large dome that centers
above the opponent. Flames than consume the inside of the dome. Very difficult
to use, but also nearly impossible to escape.
4) Shadow Phoenix*
– In a spectacular display of power involving
many out of control flames, Bax’s skin turns a much deeper shade, his eyes turn
pure red, and the flame atop his head turns black. His aura erupts into flames
and looks very much like that of a Phoenix. At this point, Bax has lost almost
all control he would have had under normal circumstances, and attacks like a
bloodthirsty killing machine: reflexes razor sharp, punches extra hard, and
flames extra hot. If there was ever a technique that could serve as a major
danger to innocent bystanders, this is it.
5) Fire Manipulation: “Firestorm”
– Whether it
involves a simple fireball, a stream of fire or propulsion off of the ground,
Bax can do it with ease. The more fire involved, the more energy it consumes, of
course, but there is one special technique that Bax uses his mastery of the
flame for. One by one, balls of fire begin raining down onto the ground,
constantly growing in size and speed, until they are almost like comets. There
is not much accuracy for each particular fireball, but the sheer number of the
things is enough to cause serious damage. Bax can keep up the attack for as long
as he can keep from passing out.
Miscellaneous:
Bax is the king of the Phoeniyan race.
He’s slightly telepathic and telekinetic due to intense meditation daily.
Fire heals him – in fact, he bathes in either fire or a sonic-wave shower.
He’s weak against water.
Bax’s blood and tears are nearly a liquid fire.
He doesn’t take huge responsibilities very well…well, other than the whole king
thing…
* The Shadow Phoenix ability will likely never rear its ugly head as Bax is
seeking to transcend to a much purer form. Similar to Shadow Phoenix, however,
will be the White Flamed Phoenix. I prefer to keep this technique a bit of a
mystery for now.
